Scheddelsted

Scheddelsted is a small hill (+60m) located in the district of Aegheria, on which the city of Lutheria was built. It is a sacred space and is considered a Calvary, possibly inspired by Golgotha, the mountain on which Christ was crucified. The first documented chapel built on the hill was Green Chapel, which was later renamed to St. Mary's Chapel.

The hill is revered not only in one religion. Other religions have also connected a special meaning to the hill, and it is therefore often referred to as the "Hill of All Saints".

The name "Scheddelsted" comes from the words "Scheddel" and "Sted". These words possibly mean "skull" and "house/place" respectively. Therefore, it can be translated as "House of the Skull". However, there is no skull relic present at the location, except for a decorated wolf/dog skull that was discovered during excavations in St. Mary's Chapel.
