Helena Hahn
Helena was born in Germany on August 12, 1831. Her father was a farmer, but her mother's occupation is unknown. She had a joyful childhood until her parents passed away when she was still very young. Since Helena had no other family members, she was taken in by a group of nuns in Germany.
When Helena was just thirteen, she started working at a hospital nearby and began pursuing a career in nursing. Even though she didn't finish her studies, she was able to help doctors, support patients in their rehabilitation, and bring joy to those in her care. She was especially good at her job thanks to her kind and caring nature.
After working at the hospital for two years, she received a job offer from the hospital in Lutheria. This allowed her to earn an income instead of staying in the convent. She accepted the offer and moved to Kilden, where she rented a room near the hospital. While working there, she met Bernardus Lutz, and the two had a secret rendezvous in Helena's apartment. Much later, Helena discovered she was pregnant, which was considered shameful since she was unmarried. Bernardus proposed to marry quickly, but due to a difficult pregnancy, they postponed the wedding until after the birth.
Theodore Lutz, also known as Theo, was born on May 1, 1850, as the second child of Bernardus Lutz and Helena Hahn, at the Lutz family's estate. His grandparents, Josephina and Antonius, were present at his birth. Helena had a challenging time before and during the birth, experiencing sickness, fatigue, and stress. The delivery lasted for more than twenty hours, but Josephina remained by her daughter-in-law's side throughout the process until Theo was finally born.
Bernardus and Helena tied the knot on July 1st, 1851, about a year after welcoming their first child. The wedding ceremony took place at St. Mary's Chapel in Lutheria, with guests including Bernardus' parents, Josephina and Antonius Lutz, as well as colleagues and friends. Following the wedding, Helena relocated to Lutz farm to live with Bernardus, and she took on farming duties while also working part-time as a nurse at the local hospital in Lutheria.
However, during their first year of marriage, Helena discovered that Bernardus had a tough and at times aggressive side, which she believed stemmed from his fear of losing the farm and the constant struggle to survive. But despite Bernardus' occasional petulant behavior, their love for each other remained strong. Helena's nurturing and empathetic personality enabled her to calm Bernardus down during difficult moments.
Arendt Lutz, the second child of Bernardus and Helena Lutz, was born on March 30, 1853, at the Lutz family estate in Vöhren. His grandparents, Josephina and Antonius, were present during his birth, while his two-year-old brother Theo quietly witnessed the event. Unlike Theo's difficult birth, Arendt's arrival was smooth and quick, without any complications.
During the first year of their marriage, Bernardus' parents were not in favour of the union, particularly his father, Antonius. This was mostly because Helena got pregnant before they tied the knot. Nonetheless, Bernardus' mother, Josephina, had a soft spot for Helena right from the start. Josephina recognized that Helena loved her son and had an unyielding spirit. Also, she proved to be an excellent mother to Theo and Arendt. Furthermore, Josephina was searching for someone to take over her parents' fashion boutique, where she had been working for the better part of her life. Helena was an excellent fit since she had an innate ability to comprehend people's emotions and needs, and had an eye for aesthetics. Josephina offered Helena a job at the shop, but Helena was reluctant at first, not seeing herself working in retail. However, after trying it out for several months, she grew fond of it. Now that her sons are beginning to work on the farm, Helena can concentrate more on running the shop.
Helena possesses a natural beauty, with a round face and a melancholic expression. Her big green eyes, dark eyebrows, and soft mouth further enhance her charm. She takes care of her appearance and visage, maintaining a slender figure.
Family
The Lutz family is a group of farmers who predominantly reside in the Vöhren district. The majority of family members either currently live or have previously lived on the Lutz estate, a small farmhouse where cattle and crops are bred. This property has been owned by the family for generations, with the eldest child inheriting it. Most family members tend to work until old age and stay on the estate until they pass away. Many farmers in the area struggle to earn a living, yet they work hard to keep their farms running out of pride and respect for their old traditions, even if it means personal loss.
