When Mary was sixteen years old, her parents introduced her to their family business which involved trading various goods from different parts of the world, both locally and internationally. Mary's parents and their advisors taught her the fundamentals of running the company. Her intelligence, social skills, and fashionable style made her the ideal spokesperson for the business.

Mary's family was in search of a suitable partner for her who met their requirements and had a notable standing that was at least equal to theirs. Along with the Mervell family, they discovered a suitable partner in Alexander Mervell. Mary and Alexander were introduced to each other during a masquerade, where they danced and later withdrew to get to know each other.

Alexander Mervell and Mary Argos got married on February 2, 1855, after a year of courtship. The wedding was celebrated in the town of Lutheria, and it was a grand event with the main streets decorated like a royal wedding. Despite their quick marriage, the couple proved to be a great match, both romantically and intellectually.

Paulus Mervell was born on June 17, 1858 at the Mervell estate in the city of Lutheria.

Felix Mervell was born on October 28, 1862, at the Mervell estate in Lutheria.
